Administration
The Work Behind the Work
Not everything that makes a project run well happens on the shop floor. Contracts have to be executed correctly. Materials have to be ordered on time. Invoices have to be accurate. Insurance certificates have to go out the day they are requested, not three days later when a GC is already frustrated. The administration side of a construction company is either something clients never have to think about or a constant source of friction. At CBBE we work hard to make sure it is the former.
Our administrative team has been supporting millwork projects in the commercial construction space for decades. They know how this industry works, what GCs and owners need from a subcontractor on the paperwork side, and how to keep the business end of a project from creating delays that affect the production side.
Contracts, Documentation, and Compliance
When a contract comes in, our team reviews it, gets it processed quickly, and makes sure our project managers have everything they need to start the job with the right information. Subcontract agreements, purchase orders, insurance requirements, lien waiver schedules, certified payroll where it is required, we handle all of it without making it your problem to chase us down.
We understand that on a large commercial project, the general contractor is managing documentation for dozens of subcontractors. When we submit something, it is complete and correct the first time. That sounds like a low bar but based on what we hear from the GCs we work with regularly, it is not as common as it should be.
Procurement and Supplier Relationships
The materials that go into our millwork come from a supplier network we have been building and maintaining for years. Our administration team manages those relationships and handles the procurement side so that what the engineers specify is what actually shows up on the production floor and on schedule. When a project calls for a specific veneer species, a particular hardware line, or a specialty product like 3form or Lumicor, we know who to contact and how to get it in time.
Material delays are one of the most common causes of millwork schedule problems. Our procurement process is built to catch those issues early. We are not placing orders the week production is supposed to start. Lead times for uncommon materials get confirmed at contract award, not when the shop is ready to use them.
Client-Facing Support
When someone at your office needs a certificate of insurance, a W-9, a contract revision, or a status update on an invoice, they should be able to get it the same day without escalating to a project manager or ownership. Our administrative staff is responsive and professional in all of those interactions. We treat the business side of the relationship the same way our craftsmen treat the physical product: it should be right and it should be on time.
We also handle the logistics coordination that keeps our field operations organized. Delivery scheduling, material staging, crew logistics, all of it runs through our administrative team working alongside project managers to make sure nothing falls between the cracks.
Built to Support Complex Work
Over 40 years of doing this, our administrative systems have grown with the complexity of the work we take on. Multi-site projects, phased builds, projects with specific owner-controlled insurance requirements, prevailing wage work, all of it runs through the same disciplined administrative process that keeps our projects on track and our client relationships in good shape.
