Nothing Leaves Canton, Georgia Without Being Checked

A quality problem caught in the shop costs a few minutes to fix. The same problem discovered on a job site costs a service call, a delay, and a conversation nobody wants to have with a contractor or an owner. Quality control that only happens at the very end of the process, right before a truck gets loaded, is quality control that comes too late to actually prevent most of the problems worth preventing.

CBBE has built commercial millwork to Architectural Woodwork Institute standards since 1985, which is why quality control runs through every department in our Canton, Georgia facility rather than sitting in a single room at the end of the line. That standard applies the same way whether a project is a single reception desk or a multi-branch rollout running for a year.

Checkpoints Throughout the Process, Not Just at the End

Quality gets checked at the boxline, where panel dimensions and material grade are confirmed against the shop drawings. It gets checked again at cabinet line assembly, where square, level, hardware function, and joint quality are inspected before a piece moves to finishing. Finishing has its own checkpoint for color match and coverage, and upholstered or solid surface components are inspected before they are paired with the casework they belong to. Each department is responsible for not passing a problem forward to the next one.

What We Actually Check

Our inspections cover dimensional accuracy against the approved shop drawings, square, level, and plumb on assembled pieces, finish consistency against approved samples, correct hardware installation and function, and material grade against what was specified in the contract documents. None of this is subjective. It is measured against the drawings and the spec, the same way an architect or owner would check it during a final walkthrough.

We build to the grading standards set by the Architectural Woodwork Institute, which define exactly what premium, custom, and economy grade construction actually means in measurable terms rather than leaving it open to interpretation. Holding every project to that standard, regardless of size or budget, is what keeps our quality consistent across a single custom piece and a hundred-unit rollout alike.
